In collaboration with Gemeente Rotterdam, we are exploring how the project can contribute to a broader conversation about children’s mental health in the city

HET ONDERWATER THEATER

Billy struggles with feelings of shyness and uncertainty. Can a magical journey to an underwater world help her come to terms with who she is through her fantasy and imagination?

HET ONDERWATER THEATER is a short Dutch-language animated fairytale encouraging conversation about mental vulnerabilities in children. Created by educator and curator Esther Frank and artist and stop-motion animator Sasha Herman, the film shows that shyness and uncertainty are common emotions that can be explored through fantasy and imagination.
